The team at MS Floor Screed appreciate the importance of thorough cleaning of sub floors prior to fitting commencing. Also where possible installation of insulation is done in two layers, the first layer cut around heating pipe work then overlaid with the second layer of insulation. Joints are staggered for improved performance and receive an injection of expanded foam to seal those thinnest of gaps.
MS Floor Screed also recommend the insulating of the floor perimeter with a strip of insulation which will prevent the risk of cold bridging at the junction of the floor and external wall.
Finally a suitable polythene sheet should be applied over the insulation. All joints should be lapped and fully taped. It is important to protect the foil on the insulation coming in contact with the screed.
